RE: [trafficsafety] Re: Being seen

Gene, Susan and everyone on the list

Mark you calendar for October 28th, Saturday 8 AM to  5 PM as I have reserved a class room at the Elsie Stuhr Center, 5550 SW Hall Blvd in Beaverton to present free* the Adult Bicycle Safety Classes© I present using the League of American Bicyclists curriculum for the Road 1 course.  This class “Gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. The course covers bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques and includes a student manual. Recommended for adults and children above age fourteen, this fast-paced, nine-hour course prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling.” (from http://bikeleague.org/programs/education/courses.php)

The asterisk on the free means I ask student to donate $5 to cover the cost of registration, the text book copy and certification with the League, as I’ve offered before on this list.  You can, if you wish, donate more.  WashCo BTC membership is $20 annually if you’d like to add your voice and energy to our mission.

RSVP your interest because after the 1st 10 registrants, the class is closed until November 11th or 25th.

I have been running a Light and Motion ARC HID for almost a year now. Great light! Simple. The relatively small battery has a 3.5 - 4 hr burn time needed  for my 37 mile round trip commute. It puts down a bright central beam and it lights up everything in a 3-4 lane swath. I have been mistaken for a slow motorcycle. Expen$ive? Yup. I am worth it.
